What Macy's Stores Are Closing In 2025 Calendar. In order to reduce costs, macy’s will lay off 3.5% of its staff corresponding to 2,350 jobs, and close five stores in 2025. The company says it’s good news.

The company is closing 150 underperforming stores — 50 by the end of 2025 and the other 100 over the next few years. It will also open new locations of its bloomingdale’s and bluemercury chains.
